The Problem
Dust is the quiet tax on every fiber deployment.
On a standard MPO connection, a single speck of dust on the ferrule can be enough to spike insertion loss by more than 25 dB - enough to take a link down. Every mate, in the field, calls for a clean-and-inspect ritual: scopes, wipes, compressed air, and time.
On dense AI-infrastructure builds, that ritual doesn't scale. Thousands of connections, tight installation windows, and technicians who can't spend an hour babysitting every ferrule.
EBO removes the ritual entirely. Because the beam is expanded rather than tightly focused, ordinary field dust has virtually no measurable effect on signal quality - connectors mate reliably, first time, without a cleaning step.

TRADITIONAL MPO
EBO CONNECTOR
A narrow, focused beam is blocked by microscopic particles at the ferrule face. Widening the beam spreads the same light over a much larger area, a few specks of dust simply stop mattering.
How It Works
Expanded Beam Technology
EBO expands the optical beam at the connector interface, creating a larger optical path that is less sensitive to small particles and contamination than conventional physical-contact fiber connections.

Expanded optical beam reduces the impact of microscopic contamination.
Reduced contamination sensitivity for more reliable optical performance.
Simplified field connectivity with a plug-and-play approach.

Key Benefits
Designed for Faster, Cleaner Fiber Connectivity
Four properties of expanded beam optics that translate directly into faster installs and fewer truck rolls.

Dust & Debris Resistance
EBO connectors are plug-and-play by design, eliminating the hours technicians spend cleaning and inspecting ferrules in traditional deployments.
No Cleaning, No Inspection
EBO connectors are plug-and-play by design, eliminating the hours technicians spend cleaning and inspecting ferrules in traditional deployments.
High Durability
Sustains thousands of mating cycles without meaningful degradation in insertion or return loss - built for repeated re-configuration.
Hermaphroditic Design
Identical connector ends can mate with one another, simplifying connectivity and reducing the need to manage matched connector pairs.
EBO‑MP12 Push-Pull Connector
Reduced sensitivity to dust, achieved by expanded-beam ferrule technology.

-
Push-pull latch
-
3M expanded beam ferrule (1 ferrule)
-
Compatible with standard key-up / key-down MPO adapters
-
Genderless, hermaphroditic design - identical ends mate to one another
-
Available in single-mode or multimode
